Caterina Lichtenberg Solo Mandolin, Telemann 12 Fantasias

Award winning mandolinist Caterina Lichtenberg presents the first ever recording on mandolin of Georg Philipp Telemann's incredible solo violin Fantasias!

Since the mandolin is tuned the same as the violin and with so many polyphonic two/three string passages in these works, the Fantasias are suited perfectly to the mandolin's chordal capabilities.

This is the 14th cd of Caterina's and she has created a wonderful sound palette for these musical jewels. The fact that Telemann was born in the Magdeburg, Germany, the town where Caterina grew up, gives this project a wonderful personal touch.
